Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.)

communityFamily and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) is the second commitment goal in our school district and aligned to our Continuous Improvement Process. The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation goal is to help create asset-based multidimensional two-way communication, cultivate trustworthy relationships, and to view families as co-authors and co-producers throughout the process. EVSC understands Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E) is a strategy and not an add on and should be embedded into every facet of learning. Most importantly, equity-focused family engagement practices provide access and opportunity to support academic excellence for all children. Our district strongly believes, effective family engagement systems, policies, and practices are mindful of diverse school-communities that are rich in language, culture, and school experiences. We strive to uplift and amplify the voices of all students, families, communities, staff, and stakeholders. As the EVSC mission, vision, and core values state, we are all, “Better Together."

F.A.C.E. Definition: EVSC defines Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) as an equitable and meaningful partnership among families, stakeholders, educators, students, and community members that promotes academic and social development from cradle to career.
